Mt. Hood Bed & Breakfast

Value - With an addition we transformed the public area of this B&B; we achieved a grand kitchen, a fantastic dining room area with a view to match and by adding these areas we improved the rest of the support spaces by creating an intimate living space with a wood stove and a separate TV area.

Character - we used materials and colors to give character to each zone of the public space in the B&B and create flow in this open, well lit space

Outdoor room - Incorporating a strong connection to the outside was a big part of our goal so that the dining room extends to the exterior patio in the summer time.

This bed and breakfast has a charming, historic character and features a beautiful view of Mt. Hood, but its Inn keepers wished for more interior space. The main floor of the house is split into two parts: public (living/dining room and a kitchen where the breakfast for the guests is served) and private (living space for the hosts), and our solution involved adding an addition that creates space for a new, larger kitchen and a formal dining area which also affords the hosts more privacy while expanding the living room space for the guests to enjoy. This addition adds more light and better defines spaces as well as creating a stronger connection to the outdoor patio.
