Addition - this home received a master suite and a multipurpose room that blend well with the existing home

Facade - creation of the main entry foyer really added a new dimension to this 50's bungalow and new siding materials and colors created a classic look with a few modern touches

Efficiency - without adding much area to the home our team was able to reorganize this home to add much to the spaces that needed most work; the kitchen and the existing bathroom.

Materials - new high performance windows help with energy use, the cork floor adds style and performance when installed over the concrete slab on the lower level and better indoor air quality was achieved with formaldehyde free kitchen cabinet and paint with zero VOC content.

The clients came to us hoping to turn their postwar bungalow into a more spacious home- preserving the warm, personable feel of the home, and enlivening it with a modern twist. Our plan expands the home to include a master bedroom suite with an added private deck to take full advantage of the breathtaking views of Mt. Adams and the Columbia River Gorge.

Every addition to the home was designed to complement the overall scale and character of the existing building. Each room of the house was reworked to create a more comfortable character and a more efficient use of space. We were able to turn an existing one- car garage into an artfully informal craft room. The driveway was also reconfigured into a patio area, which flows seamlessly into the living area when the French door is open.
